ShoSho’s “XO” Is an Underground Tech House Mover

Over the past few years, the Bulgarian capital of Sofia has become a hotbed of underground dance music producers. And hometown hero ShoSho is one of the hottest at the moment, making his mark with past releases for scene-leading labels like Toolroom, Trapez Ltd and Patent Skillz, among others.

His latest three-tracker—the XO EP on Italian stable Lapsus—is well-crafted tech house tailor-made for the dark, stormy club. The title cut features stacked beats, streamlined synth and a layered, rolling groove that delivers on the dancefloor.

“‘XO’ was made during the tour in South America,” ShoSho tells Insomniac. “I gathered the atmospheres of airports and city squares, where there was a concentration of many people and many cool places, and then finished the song while on the plane from São Paulo to Bulgaria.”
