Jamie Jones and his seminal Hot Creations imprint are heating things up for the incoming summer party season. With all the Ibiza residencies and festival throw-downs it entails, they need to ensure they’ve got a few bangers up their sleeves. As such, the timing is perfect for a solid new release to slip into the picture, coming from NYC label regular David Berrie. His three-track Airplane to Madrid EP lands on the label this Friday, and we’re bringing you its most energetic cut in the lead-up to when it hits stores.
“Talkin’ Bout” is a tech house groover that puts the percussion in the spotlight, along with an assortment of quirky FX. Berrie has made it a point to drop the bassline in hard, while also gifting the arrangement with a dash of extra swag, thanks to some cleverly chosen vocal samples. While Berrie keeps it restrained here, there’s scope aplenty to build the intensity as the record progresses.
“The inspiration for Airplane to Madrid came after spending my first full season in Ibiza, drawing from different elements old and new,” says Berrie. “It was on the flight back that the track idea came to be—hence the title.”
Available April 26 via Hot Creations.
