Markantonio “Does Not Exists”

Hailing from Naples—a town holding respectable weight in the techno scene—Markantonio has been cutting those pearly whites since the ‘90s through a venerable DJ career. Music production and running a label also put him on the musical map, both bringing us to the Italian producer’s debut full-length, which is coming out on his very own Analytic Trails imprint. Over a year in the making, Musichemistry sees him experimenting in his production laboratory with multiple moods and emotions associated with the various angles of the tech genre.

Living on the more relaxed end of the spectrum, “Does Not Exist” is a highly reactive club concoction with enough rhythm to take out legions of underground heads. Crisp and extremely volatile, the tune is bubbling with fastidious drum work, sapid stabs and brain-busting textures. You don’t need to be a chemist to realize Markantonio has cooked up a solid tech number here.
