Aside from being a natural on-air personality, Monki has etched a name for herself as an influential ear held high by the most respected tastemakers in the game. She has an estimable imprint to show for it, Zoo Music, which is now entering in its eighth release.

A friendly face on their roster, Bristolian producer Kalyde has been bagged for the current installment, arriving with a expertly contrasted two-tracker in hand. “Pogo” eschews the squelches heard on the lead cut, instead finding itself fixated on frothy textures that ascend and dip back down into the depths of the track’s pounding drum programming. It’s been forged for fame within the walls of the most in-the-cut warehouses

Here’s what Kalyde had to say:

“The idea for ‘Pogo’ was actually conceived around five years ago, but then it just sat on my hard drive until I decided to go back to it with a fresh head. It was always meant to be a tough warehouse track, but I didn’t capture it well enough back then. With this track, I’m glad I sat on it and waited for this version. Shouts to Insomniac and everyone across the pond for the love!”

Available March 18 via Zoo music.
