James le Roux Crafts a Pensively Potent Jam With “Apex”
Lowless, a digital-only label with a declared focus on “emotion and singularity,” has pushed off with its inaugural signing, and they couldn’t have picked a better candidate to cross off both categories. Londoner James le Roux takes the debut honors, crafting a profound two-tracker ironically titled Finale.
“Apex” is the opening jam and clocks in just shy of 10 minutes in length, giving it time to gradually climb to its full momentum. The deep drum programming pedals along with unwavering intent, as logy chords discharge amid twinkling padlines and psychedelic color splashes. It’s a pensive jam that doesn’t pander to any mind-numbing clichés.
