D-Formation Sculpts Opaque Driver “Tech On”

After spending the last 25 years building the Madrid underground scene into what it is today, you’d think D-Formation wouldn’t have much fight left in him. But the opposite has proved to be true, as the Spanish export continues to file pristine techno cuts in a way that leaves most newbies stumped in the studio. On the back of last month’s monster debut appearance on Suara, the seasoned vet slings out a pair of diabolical drivers for his own imprint, Beatfreak Recordings.

“Tech On” is the titular offering featured on the two-tracker, and it’s the type of prime-time production that doesn’t let you feel its weight until it’s too late to turn back. By that time, the eerie vocals and layers of opaque tones will already have made heads feel it where it hurts most. It’s another affirmation of why D-Formation has stuck around for as long as he has.
