I remember the moment I fell in love with this culture. My friends Seth, Sear and AM took me to my first underground party at a warehouse in downtown L.A. We were surrounded by so many different people from so many different walks of life, all grooving to one perfect beat. No judgments. No fronts. I remember that feeling of newness and discovery. It was infectious. It still is.

Since Insomniac started back in 1993, dance music experienced so many peaks and valleys, but the culture has always been there—kept alive and celebrated by the people who aren’t afraid to hold on to that sense of wonder and excitement. Insomniac has always strived to stay genuine and respect the people and things that drive this movement forward. For me, this new website represents the next step in that journey. Like our record label, it expands and strengthens our commitment to supporting this music around the world.

We have a rich history that goes all the way back to the days of disco and B-boy culture, and whatever the future holds for dance music, Insomniac will be there to celebrate it.

I can’t tell you how excited I am for this re-launch. Our entire team has put so many late nights and weekends into making this a reality. Not only will Insomniac.com be the go-to destination for all things related to our festivals, our clubs nights, and our incredible community, but for the first time, we’ll be contributing our own voice to the global conversation on dance music. This, of course, means covering stuff outside our own events and the performers that play them. We’ll be focusing on the artists, the fans, the sounds, the styles, the cities, and the trends that make this culture so special. It’s our hope to unify all these beautifully fragmented pieces into one unique vision.

We’ve got a passionate group of writers, editors, artists and photographers on board who live and breathe this music’s past, present and future. We have a rich history that goes all the way back to the days of disco and B-boy culture, and whatever the future holds for dance music, Insomniac will be there to celebrate it.

These last eight months have been some of the craziest and most exciting times we’ve experienced here at Insomniac headquarters, but there’s still so much to do, and so many stories to tell. For now, explore the site, check out the features, listen to some new music, watch the first episodes of our two new video series—#EDCAuditions and On the Road to EDC—and hit us up with feedback. We look forward to hearing from you!
