Insomniac’s new Metronome series features mixes from some of today’s fastest-rising electronic stars, as well as championed legends. It takes listeners deep across a wide range of genres, movements, cultures, producers, artists and sounds that make up the diverse world of electronic music.

Sweden’s Jakob Liedholm is the definition of an up-and-coming producer with the world in his palms and his future brightly ahead of him. Banking off the success of his original tracks “Swede Love” and “Fiona” and remixes of Foxes and Gotye, Liedholm already counts both BBC Radio 1 icons Danny Howard and Pete Tong as fans and supporters. He started producing tunes at age 11, when most kids were writing book reports, and now the 18-year-old teenage sensation is performing at legendary festivals like Creamfields and opening for hometown hero Avicii. It’s no surprise, then, that Liedholm is on the path to becoming Sweden’s next big thing since Mr. Bergling himself.

Liedholm strikes gold with his new single “NEA,” out early December on Epic Records, a sweeping house ballad of big-room epicness for stadiums, stands and sunsets. It’s the perfect track for the unofficial passing of the torch for this future star. Liedholm opens his Metronome mix with “NEA,” then dives into the sounds of main-stage house and electro, with a special nod to his Swedish brothers Alesso, AN21, Marcus Schossow, DubVision and, of course, mob boss Steve Angello.
