Toolroom Records is celebrating 15 years, which in the music industry these days is like, forever. To mark the milestone, head honcho Mark Knight rounded up some of his favorite people for an anniversary compilation that clocks in at [checks notes] 70–!–tracks. Up in the mix are Booka Shade, Tube & Berger, and Weiss, who contributes “Acid Chunk” to the birthday soundtrack.

Yes, there are acid house squelches, purrs, and squiggles on “Acid Chunk,” but the thump is nothing to sleep on. Bumping along at a steady clip, the jacking rhythm sets a deep tech-house vibe for the acid notes to twirl and wriggle against; its silence at the break only adds to the acid’s shine. Pitched-down vocals and a diva sample supply hooks to chant along with. It’s easy to hear how Weiss has also turned up on Dirtybird and Relief records.

As part of the celebration, Mark Knight will embark on a 15-city tour with guests including Adrian Hour, Illyus & Barrientos, Dosem, Booka Shade, and Hannah Wants (we’re teaming up with them on the L.A. stop at 1720 on July 28, so come hang). Expect “Acid Chunk” to be a crowd favorite wherever they drop it.

Available April 13 via Toolroom Records.
