Taster Peter Blows a Chill Breeze Over “Body Call”

As the summer season beams warmly down upon us, Toolroom Records is offering up an excellent 53-track compilation to kick off the dance season. And while there’s a dizzying amount of talent on Ibiza Underground 2017, Taster Peter offers a perfect sample with his chilled-out house tune “Body Call.”

This is an easygoing bit of tech house that’s just cold enough to cut the sweat off a brow. Peter rolls things in with a deep yet infinitely catchy beat. Building it up bit-by-bit, he then balances a cold bassline against warm house vocals. Soon, more samples and percussive beats drip through the mix with a laidback flow that practically commands heads to bob and feet to move.

The dynamic of “Body Call” ebbs and flows like an active tide, but the soundscape never goes too big or drops away to absolute zero. The elements stay in motion with the ease of a refreshing breeze through a hot midnight. And hopefully, that’s exactly the type of setting in which this track will find the average listener. Ironic metaphors aside, this track is the tantalizing tip of the iceberg for both this compilation and the Ibiza summer season.
