While every track on the upcoming Echoes & Knight EP, System Collapse, hangs in the corner of gleeful sneers, Litek takes things downward to a whole different level. The original “System Collapse” is a 4×4 banger of bassline, kicked up a notch by the ragga’d-out vocals of Cordless. Meanwhile, the Litek remix is darker, deeper and sharper around the edges. This version sees the track explore a more dubby and almost midnight-UK-funky soundscape.

The beat stays locked in and rolls with a raw, unrelenting fury. All the while, the bass slices through with jagged-edged stabs. Pulses of fiery energy keep the same power as the original, but here, the bass stays grimily out of the mids, crawling down to the lower depths instead. Stripping away many a layer, and boosting the atmosphere, gives Cordless’ vocals a more epic and ominous quality. Even though it lies in proximity to the original version, this remix shifts the tune into new territory. Litek is sure to achieve a maximum screw-face reaction with this heater.

Available March 3 via Saucy Records.
