When Hybrid Theory went into the studio with Trilla to craft the final version of “Big Deal,” they couldn’t have set the bar any higher. Everything from the grimey garage beats to the roughneck bars hit just right. And yet, here’s a whole crew lifting the bar just a little more for the upcoming EP of remixes.

Among the heavy hitters is UK peer Endor, who simply smashes his duties here. Cranking the tempo up a good 10 beats per minute, this track hits that sweet spot for UKG that can send a dancefloor through the roof. With obvious history in this world, Endor rolls out some classic, smooth vocal samples before hitting hard with rapid-fire kicks. Plucks and pads come through like old friends in the club, but the real magic happens when the grimiest of basslines rips up the mix. Somehow, Trilla’s vocals hit even harder here.

Though blistering in tempo, just when the dynamic seems to have worn out its welcome, Endor flips it into a halftime breakdown that will certainly yield audible responses in the club. It’s hard to imagine a more fitting rework to “Big Deal.” But this is the kind of midnight magic we’ve all sweated it out to a million times and have never grown tired of.
