Kastle Peels Back the Layers on Garage-Fueled Groove “In My Mind”

Kastle comes correct his debut three-track EP on Four40 Records, called R U 4 Real. This filthy breakbeat-driven banger, aptly titled “In My Mind,” sees the L.A.-based producer dropping a garage-fueled groove that feels like a shivering, old-school-tinged dreamscape for those who like to get down low under the midnight moon.

From the expertly placed vocal to the hypnotic, psychedelic atmosphere that swirls throughout, we can’t tell if this one is meant to transport us into a deep, introspective realm or have us busting it out on the dancefloor. We’ll just assume Kastle wants us to take the best from both the inner and outer worlds and let the body follow the groove to guide us to those deeper truths that arrive only from letting the body do what it does when the beat takes over. File this one under “exquisite illness” and prepare to let that 2-step spirit move you. It drops this week, while the other two cuts follow the next two consecutive Fridays.
