Affiliate Takes “Badboy Sound” Into Even Deeper Dubs

For the original version of “Badboy Sound,” UK producer Pelikann shapes deep bass groves while punctuating them with a grimy hook that’s as sharp as it is ragged. However, once Affiliate gets to work on the remix duties, it becomes a much weightier animal. Slowing the tempo to a flowing molasses, the intro beats in with the feel of deep dubstep. A misty river flowing through an ocean floor, the sparse landscape has an epic feel to its journey. Low and mean, the drop clangs in with grit minus needles bombast that bends the listener to its will.

The dynamic swells and spills with a long and inviting tension, carrying an almost cinematic quality, as well as leaden low-end. Such a pull is futile to fight, as it drags everything along it in a hazy velvet wake. Heads will roll, indeed, for this one.
