Spektre Drops a Stomping Remix of “Memories” for Italy’s Loose Records

Loose Records is a techno mainstay in the label’s home country of Italy, with already a decade of releases behind it. This week, the imprint returns with the new three-track Memories EP from rising artist Stiv Hey. The lead track comes equipped with a remix by none other than UK duo Spektre, who turn loose a stomping rework.

With their remix, Spektre demonstrate exactly why they’ve been such an enduring name in the techno scene and why their productions are featured regularly by heavyweight labels like Drumcode, ELEVATE, and Tronic. Offering a steelier take on Stiv Hey’s original, the kick drum is given a boost while the lead synthline is dialed back a little. Spektre places the focus on the percussion, with predictably big results.
