Price: Free

It’s always worth repeating: Insomniac fans, the real Headliners of the show, are the reason we stay up late doing what we do—and why get up early. Doctors, soldiers, teachers, yoga instructors, chefs, baristas, and you name it, our Headliners might grind and roll their way through life along different paths on their way to the dancefloor, but are like family once they’ve arrived. In celebration of their uniqueness, and the music and lifestyle that connects us all, we give you HeadlinerHIGHLIGHTS, an ongoing series profiling the diverse individuals that make up the Insomniac community.

Let’s start off with a little about you and dance music.
I discovered electronic music for the first time back in 1992. I was 19 and living in Waikiki at a time when underground raves were the rage. Since that time I have seen Calvin Harris, Diplo, Flosstradamus, Kaskade, A&B, Eric Prydz, Major Lazer, Bassnectar, Skrillex, just to name a few. Self-expression and individuality are definitely my favorite things about electronic music culture. I love that no one cares what size you are, what you look like and how at the end of the day it’s all about those positive vibes. If I have discovered anything about myself since finding electronic music it would be that I am the same girl I was back when I was 19. I love the music, I love to dance, and I love getting dressed up in whatever I want to wear. Only difference now is that I am much happier, a little older, and wiser. The furthest I’ve traveled for an event is from Kona Hawaii to Las Vegas!

How would you describe an Insomniac event to someone at work that has never been?
It’s the most epic celebration of music, individuality, and expression that you will ever come into contact with.

Do you go out and party with co-workers?
When I lived in Hawaii I went out with my co-workers. Here, in Texas, it is way different. I tend to keep to myself.

What’s a typical day like for you at work?
I get up early and go into a mini yoga flow of my choice. I make sure to ground and center myself, and walk myself through a mini meditation before leaving to instruct clients. I go to client’s homes and I also instruct at a studio. Classes last an hour and can vary from Buti Yoga or vinyasa.

What do you like do outside of dance music when you have nothing to do?
I like to chill. Relaxing at home with my kids, fiancée, and pets is always appreciated!

If you could have one magical/super power, what would you want?
I have always wanted to fly; the closest I have gotten was skydiving.
