It’s always worth repeating: Insomniac fans, the real Headliners of the show, are the reason we stay up late doing what we do—and why get up early. Doctors, soldiers, teachers, yoga instructors, chefs, baristas—you name it—our Headliners might grind and roll their way through life along different paths on their way to the dancefloor, but they’re like family once they’ve arrived. In celebration of their uniqueness and the music and lifestyle that connect us all, we give you HeadlinerHIGHLIGHTS, an ongoing series profiling the diverse individuals who make up the Insomniac community.

Let’s start off with a little about you and dance music.
My fiancé was the one to introduce me to electronic dance music and rave culture, and I’ve been in love with it ever since. I’ve been going to EDC for the last three years and fall head over heels for it every year. It’s my home away from home; it’s the most amazing place ever. The first day I walked through the hallway, I started to cry from pure joy. You can feel everybody’s happiness all around you, and it just consumes your soul.

How would you describe an Insomniac event to someone who has never been?
So amazing, because you meet so many beautiful and wonderful people. I’d tell them that all the happiness around you, and everybody’s vibes, it just consumes you and makes you want to cry of pure joy. This event is at least something to go to once in your life.

Do you go out and party with coworkers?
I keep it separate.

What’s a typical day like for you at work?
I give out samples daily and enjoy making small talk with members, whether it’s about food or making jokes.

What do you like to do outside of dance music?
On my days off, I like to just kinda wing it and go with the flow. Most of the time, I like to just hang out at home with my fiancé and listen to some classic rock or some trance, and play some dominoes or walk to the park. My fiancé and me started playing Pokémon Go, and that’s actually what has been taking up most of my free time; it’s addicting.

If you could have one magical/superpower, what would you want?
Probably to make everybody happy and be at peace—get rid of all this hate.
