An audio engineer by trade, with a side hustle in the film-composing world, Rido has a poignant perspective to offer drum & bass. He’s been using it to his advantage on killer singles and EPs up to this point, as the Prague-based producer prepares to unleash his debut full-length this week. Rhythm of Life contains 11 impeccably executed tracks, each demonstrating his technical know-how and mastery over complex rhythmic structures.

“Veins” is the closest in proximity to his silver-screen sensibilities, a cinematic roller ushering in those celluloid-induced emotions. Thomas Oliver gets a vocal cameo, belting out from the bottom of his soul. Rapturing strings set up the frame, reappearing in the breakdown, as his singing is met with intricate drum patterns, humming low-end, steely tones, and emotions for days. Head over to Blackout this Friday to score a copy of Rido’s astounding LP, and catch a few words below on today’s premiere—straight from the mastermind himself:

I am a big lover of orchestral and classical music, so I wanted to write something with strings for the album. After I had the main parts of the track ready, I felt it would be great to have some vocals on the track, so I asked my friend and a great artist, Thomas Oliver, to try something out. Luckily, he was up for it, and when I got the vocals back, I was blown away! He caught the vibe of the track so well, and he even managed to give it that little something extra. His lyrics fit the track perfectly, and I am really happy with the result!

Available September 23 via Blackout Music.
