No Regular Play Delivers Top-Shelf House Number With “Back to You”
As lifelong friends from Minnesota, Greg Paulus and Nick Debruyn have established a brotherly bond that most production units would dream of calling their own. It’s allowed them to gradually find their way into the inner circle of Wolf + Lamb, the NYC artist collective that took them in and brought them up. Widely known under their No Regular Play guise, the live act have engaged discerning ears with their fusion of an organic aesthetic and electronic attitude.
The pair of Brooklynites are now readying their newest EP for their W+L home base by way of a four-tracker named Back to You, and they’ve graciously offered up the title cut for its first play on Insomniac today. It’s an intoxicating display that boasts cathartic cooing underpinned by loosely coiled basslines and a blossoming melody line that carefully unravels over the tune’s six-minute runtime. In regards to the new offering, NRP told Insomniac:
This record is about relationships that fall apart and rebuild and then fall apart, only to come back together again. We see this in our lives and all around us, so here’s to that back and forth we all know and love and hate and love! We sincerely hope this record indulges both the listeners’ highbrow musical senses and, of course, their lowbrow desires.
Available March 18 via Wolf + Lamb Records.
