Animal Trainer “Maunder”

Samy Jackson and Adrian Flavor have been inciting a furious uproar since banding together as Animal Trainer. Based out of Switzerland, the duo have been conditioning crowds to dance on cue once they touch down with their untamable club constructions. Next week, they turn to their own Hive Audio imprint—already in its fifth year of operation and buzzing like it’s no one’s business—to unleash their latest monster, “Maunder.” It’s very much inured with their discipline in primetime prestige, as it wields masterful horn stabs and body-tingling pad lines that’ll keep you fixed on the floor.

Was there one particular moment in the recording or mixing process of this track that made you feel as though you were creating something pretty damn special?
We just hung out in the studio and tried some snippets with the vocal on the beat. That’s it. Cool tracks always happen to us like this.

On the dancefloor, surrounded by your best friends.

Who is the ideal person to remix this track?
Dario D’attis was our remixer. We like his style, and he is a close part of our Hive Audio family. He is the master of the beats, and his style to arrange a remix is killer. In September, his next EP will be out on Hive Audio, so watch out!

Have you played this one out in any of your sets? If so, what was the response?
Yes, we’ve played the track for weeks, and the reaction on it is always off-the-hook!

What’s your favorite sound/synth/effect/etc. used here?
The Diva synth is used here a lot. He is a massive monster sound.
