Iz & Diz are longtime staples in the San Francisco Bay Area underground house scene. Originally, the two DJs met in Chicago during the ‘90s and began collaborating in the studio. Since then, they’ve hit their stride, releasing notable house tracks like “Mouth” and “Magnificent” on a host of respected underground labels like Guidance, Freerange, OM, Dirtybird, Tweekin’ and many others.
Now, the talented duo—aka Joshua Michaels (Iz) and Dwayne Washington (Diz)—are set to release their debut album, Fort Nightly on Iz’s signature imprint Vizual, and it’s exactly what you’ve come to expect from the pair. The forthcoming 14-tracker ranges from midtempo Balearics to emotive deepness, to more experimental, explorative fare.
On “Little Universe,” they deliver a tight mix of deep, techy, dance-ready vibes that are perfect for a late-night warehouse set. Top jocks like Dusky, Monty Luke, Claptone, Groove Armada, ZDS, Gene Farris and more are sure to support it.
“Truth be told, ‘Little Universe’ is my personal favorite track on the album,” Iz told Insomniac. “It’s a departure from our normal sound, but it still mixes organic and techy elements, which is an Iz & Diz trademark. This was one of those tracks that just came together really quickly, and when that happens, it’s pure magic.”
Available November 14 via Vizual.
