Keys N Krates have a streetwise vibe all their own. In September, the Toronto-based DJ collective-turned-live band—aka turntablist Jr. Flo, keyboardist David Matisse, and drummer Adam Tune—will bring that vibe, along with their signature brand of future bass and fire beats, to the 22nd annual Nocturnal Wonderland at the idyllic Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, California.

Back in 2014, Jr. Flo told Insomniac that rockin’ the party is job #1 for him and the crew: “All we care about is playing shows to our fans, where they come out, and they’re into the music we do, and we can have a communal experience.”

Since Insomniac festivals are a super awesome way to discover new music, we thought we’d start the Wonderland warmup with some lesser-known acts you might check out before the festivities. Enjoy the ride!

DJ Mustard

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Labels: Mad Decent, Roc Nation
Tracks you’ll love: “In My Room” and “Want Her”
Why he’s lit: This hard-hustling Angelino, born Dijon Isaiah McFarlane, made his bones over the past few years collaborating with top hip-hop and R&B artists, most notably with Compton rapper YG. Known for his upbeat, dancefloor-filling musical style, he’s making a quality name for himself within West Coast festival circles. Be sure to catch him at Nocturnal Wonderland, because it’s guaranteed to be a party! In the meantime, check out his ridic remix of Childish Gambino’s “Redbone.”

Vindata

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Labels: OWSLA
Tracks you’ll love: “Better” and “Own Life”
Why they’re lit: This talented L.A.-based duo, aka Branden Ratcliff and Jared Poythress, are making waves within the West Coast underground scene with their ample skill behind the decks and in the studio. Signed to Skrillex’s signature OWSLA label, the plucky pair made a big splash with 2016’s “Better,” alongside like-minded artist Miji. Definitely check out the original mix, which was massive, but here’s something a bit different: the more recent Electric Mantis remix.

Falcons

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Labels: Fool’s Gold, OWSLA
Tracks you’ll love: “Aquafina” and “Boo You Know”
Why he’s lit: A leading member of L.A.’s own Athletixx crew, this upstart DJ/producer broke out in 2015 with his four-track Terra EP and lead-off single, “Aquafina,” featuring rappers GoldLink and Chaz French. He’s set to tear the roof off this year’s Nocturnal Wonderland with his heavy, hip-hop-tinged jams. Dive into his latest single, “Want Your Body,” inspired by ‘90s rave and jungle anthems.

Point Point

Location: Paris, France
Labels: OWSLA
Tracks you’ll love: “Life in Grey” and “A Piece of Sun”
Why they’re lit: Parisian electronic trio Point Point—aka Aazar, Point Point, and Dombresky—are sure to surprise and delight the Nocturnal Wonderland massive with their crowd-pleasing blend of future bass and fun-time dance vibes. Listen to their irresistible flip of Kanye West’s “Power”—and be sure to catch them on tour here in the States throughout August in San Diego, Seattle, Vancouver, Denver, Phoenix, and more.

You can catch all the acts listed above doing their thing at Nocturnal Wonderland 2017, which takes place Friday, September 15, and Saturday, September 16, at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, CA. For more information, visit the official website.
