Angels and Astronauts: Best Costumes at Digital Dreams

Digital Dreams is the EDM event of the summer if you live in Toronto or even Southern Ontario. Hundreds of fans come dressed to the nines in their most dance-friendly gear. Here are some of our favorites.
Erin English
Stage dance pack leader and Kharizma Entertainment’s own, Erin English had multicolored braids down to her rear, put together by makeup artist Melanie Viger, aka MUAVEE. The circus theme and disco ball helmet was one of the heaviest and most challenging she’s ever worked with. Keep your chin up, girl!
Courtney Rainbow
Courtney was dancing outside of the House of Boom at the end of the rainstorm, which led to a rainbow. I thought I spied a leprechaun coming after her from the crowd, but it was just a sketchy rave troll. Her costume was the perfect treasure chest of fun for an EDM festival.
Cloud 9 Angels
We found these creatures at Cloud 9, the exclusive VIP lounge with reduced drink prices, covered tents, and plush, white leather couches. The heavenly beings woke up at the crack of dawn to get ready. “I think it was well worth it. We feel very feminine. We’re a mix between angels, Charlie’s Angels and dominatrices. We’re here to make people feel like they’re on cloud nine.”
Cosplay Raver
Raving and cosplay don’t fit together in her world, but if she could have it any way, she’d have “cosplay by day and rave by night.”
Jeremy K
This dude has been to every party you’ve ever heard of, and some of the ones nobody’s ever really heard of, but we’re sure they’re awesome because… just look at him. There’s no doubt he knows how and where to have a good time.
Mr. Pacman
“If Pac-Man affected us as kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.” ‘nuff said!
Black and Gold Girls
These girls were kind of like the Golden Girls—not the old ones from TV; the EDM versions. “I saw a pair of gold gloves and thought it would be awesome to wear them, but we didn’t in the end.” Meaghan is studying at Max the Mutt College of Animation, Art and Design, and you can see her awesome photo art at Rune Photography.
King Tut aka Terry Awesome
King Tut, aka Terry Awesome, came all the way from Chicago to strut his Nubian styles. It’s his sixth festival this season already. His power is to make people smile and laugh.
Holli Dollee
The only giraffe girl at Digital Dreams, Holli Dollee wanted to be something a little more unique than kandi, glitter and high-waisted shorts. “If you go to EDC or Shambhala, you’re going to see a lot of the same thing. Giraffes are unique and different. Do you see any giraffes around here?” Nope! Fun giraffe fact: They can crack a lion’s skull with a single kick.
Rave Ninja
Digital Dreams makes people want to go all out with their costumes. “I’m a straight-up ninja! You can see me because the lights haven’t gone out yet.” But when they do, wow! You best be watching out for this guy.
Heavy Breather
This guy was just at EDC Las Vegas and was blown away by the awesome totem poles that people built and wanted to make his own with the heavy-breathing cat meme. In case you’re wondering, trance and techno are what get him heaving. He’s no Photoshop master, so he convinced a friend to make it for him. Now that’s effort.
