Keep an eye out for Maya Wild’s amazing Headliner illustrations in this year’s EDC Vegas Festival Guide. And now, get ready for a crash course in her awesome style.

Hailing from London, Maya has been a player in the global art scene for years, with exhibitions in San Francisco, New York, London, Paris, Glasgow and Tokyo, along with a number of features in magazines like Flaunt, Spin, Grafik, Super Nasty, Nylon, Elle, Fader, Dazed & Confused and, of course, our own EDC magazine.

Maya is the perfect archetype of a pop-inspired mixture of illustrator and graphic designer. In both pursuits, she has tapped into an aesthetic most artists wish they could find.

Her designs harken back to Keith Haring’s golden age in their evocative minimalism and childish look on life and the world around us.

Similar to Haring’s work, her art portrays a surprisingly hopeful aesthetic, which she has employed in collaborations with awesome designers like Nooworks, Nervo, Moussy and Burton snowboards.

Plus, Maya has drawn that vision into the 21st century. She has tapped into the original PLUR lifestyle that Haring loved before anyone even called it PLUR. The kind of world people craved back then, as well as now. The kind of world that Haring exhibited and exemplified in his time frequenting the streets of New York City in the late ‘80s.

For instance, in her work in the social media community, Maya has created a number of sticker and stamp collections that people can paste on top of their pictures, lending an awesome look to their great nights out.

Her portraiture, on the other hand, would make Andy Warhol smile, as they combine colored pencil sketches of pop icons like the late and great Prince for VICE, M.I.A., the Rolling Stones, Die Antwoord, Tori Amos, Devlin, Dizzee Rascal, Grace Jones, and Mykki Blanco and Le1f for the Red Bull Music Academy.

On top of all of that, Maya enjoys an amazing life as a mother and has continued in the art scene with her positive spin on both life and the world. Check her projects out on her site. We can’t wait to see what you do next, Maya.
