“Atypique” is about as charged and driving as it gets when it comes to mainroom house stompers. Hailing from the South of France, ascending house producer Syskey has been building his profile over the past several years with his brand of peak-time grooves—which he dubs “French big house”—that blend big basslines with hip-hop acapellas aplenty. This record arrives on his new Personal Disorder EP, and it’s one he’s been showcasing in his sets for the past year to great effect.

All the elements are here and delivered with powerful style: tight grooves, a massive bassline for maximum energy, and an infectious hip-hop sample that embellishes “Atypique” perfectly, eventually unleashed to full effect when a devastating break is thrown down several minutes in.

Available October 3 via Uprise Music.
