Landing their Culprit debut at the beginning of next month, Superlounge heads out with a splendiferous deep house two-tracker. The duo from Düsseldorf, made up of Oliver Fritsche & Alex Bach, pairs their proclivity for provocative house productions with the songwriting skills of Forrest and Jinadu on this stunning effort, which invites Ricoshëi and Timelapse on remix duties. Cutting to the chase, it’s another sizable signing for Droog’s Los Angeles-based imprint.

Jinaduo jumps in on the title cut, “Ghost of Time,” lending his melancholic vocal tones to open up the EP. Attractively deep and moony, a striking bassline serves as the vertebral column for this piece, as it holds together exquisite extensions made up of driving percs, a galvanizing synth lead and gorgeous garnishments. No doubt, lounging on the dancefloor will not be an option when this one is on.

Available April 1 via Culprit.

Were you impulsive on this track, or did you have a sketch in mind before you started?
It was Jinadu’s voice. When we got the vocals, everything went on the fly. We built the whole track around his voice within one day. Most of the parts are made with an analog Minimoog, which fits perfectly with his vox. Usually, we need some more time to finish a track, but this time it was simply a case of certain things fitting together well.

Describe the best setting/activity to hear this track.
We are always trying to produce tracks you can listen everywhere. But to choose one, it will be the pre-peak time during a daytime party, to bring the people in the right mood for the rest of the party. But we’re sure it will be also a good soundtrack for a car ride.

Who is the ideal person to remix this track?
That’s easy, as we got the remixer we wanted. Ricoshëi are one of the most talented up-and-coming acts of the past year, and we are really diggin’ their stuff. We played “Perfect Like You” in nearly every set last year and are thrilled to have them remix “Ghost of Time.”

Have you played this one out in any of your sets? If so, what was the response?
Of course, and we got great feedback so far. It’s always nice to see that people enjoy our music as much as we do.

If this song were a color, what color would it be?
It would be yellow, like the sun. As we mentioned before, it’s the perfect track for a sunny outdoor party.
