House of Virus and LoVance Get Busy on Heavy-Set House Collab “Freak”
Virus J and Dirty Orkestra, together known as House of Virus, have been on the grind since their Freakin’ 909 label—co-owned by house pioneer Marshall Jefferson and DJ Ides—got up and running as of last year. The hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed, with occupants of the underground fully digging what they’ve been putting down.
“Freak” sees the HoV gents teaming up with studio shiner LoVance on a number that’s sure to make clubs lose their shit. Heavy-set and hung deep, the collab is pinned down by a vocal sample most should be able to identify right off the bat. Add that to its attitude-adjusting chords and big-league basslines, and you’re messing with a certifiable house banger. Here’s what House of Virus has to say:
On the dancefloor, everyone can be a freak. This record is about completely losing yourself in the music and losing your inhibitions. As with the majority of productions, we were looking to capture that classic house sound with a contemporary twist. It’s short, sharp and packs a punch. We hope you dig it.
