Hamilton Unleashes the Pressure on “Only for Tonight”

The RAM Records stalwart and all-around heavy-hitter known as Hamilton takes a break from working on his debut album to hit us with this hands-in-the-air drum & bass thriller that’s been crushing it at festivals all season long.

With RAM already promising that Hamilton’s 22 album project will “solidify his place within the genre’s historical fabric,” this single showcases the untouchable mastery that 22 years in the trenches reveals. From his early days in the breakbeat hardcore era as DJ Ham, all the way through to his current iteration as a hard-charging drum & bass legend, Hamilton seems determined to flex on all fronts as he merges next-level production skills with old-school influences and inspirations on this latest single.

Take the A-side, “Only for Tonight.” While pitched-up vocals and retro piano flows glide across the sweep of the ‘80s-styled synth and breakdown, it’s when that percussive kick and snare come thundering in and the bottom-end starts to rattle the walls that you know you’re in good hands.

“The spark for this track came from the piano section that is featured at the very start,” Hamilton explains. “I was finally able to use an original vocal I wrote a few years ago as the main vocal hook on this, and it all came together from there.”

Backed by the equally exquisite “Another Dimension,” the entire single is a testament to the power Hamilton is able to wield in the studio, as well as offering up an exclusive glimpse into the continued evolution of one of our all-time favorite artists.
