Before they started grinding out deep-leaning, hung-loose cuts, Leigh Sedley and Paul Fisher were shredding up coastlines as profesh surfers. They’ve taken this swell-chasing passion into the studio, so the vibe on their forthcoming Life’s a Beach EP leaves little room for mystery. Closing out the five-track pack is a West Coast viber, “Santa Monica.” A dgaf attitude cruises down the block, with scampering basslines slicing through intermittent vocal samples and blocky perc hits. It may be sweater weather in L.A. at the moment, but this house offering makes stopping off at a nice sandy spot not such a bad idea.
