Brobot Records has acted as a springboard of sorts for emerging artists since the imprint’s doors first flung open in 2013. With a founder like Junior Sanchez calling all the shots, it’s easy to see why it has served as such. Simon Kiisk is one of the names they’ve been endorsing recently, since they snatched up his debut “Orbit” last year. Now, the Swede is serving up his next outing for Sanchez’s camp, this time bringing a close comrade along for the ride.

Frequent collaborator Bäcksvart gets thrown into the fold, as the two make their chemistry known with a sleek and sexy two-tracker. “Swim to the Five” starts things off right, marked by a real-deal house vocal that drifts along sporadic piano stabs and pumping percussion. Meanwhile, “Pikehouse” stays on the chipper side of the stick with its shimmery, upbeat swing.

“We made ‘Swim to the Five’ on a Sunday morning after a long Saturday night,” they tell Insomniac. “It’s one of those EPs that feels like it almost created itself—inspired by a church outside the window, and craving for a simple but bouncy groove to our morning coffee.”

Available April 1 via Brobot Records.
