We’re big fans of Tony Romera, the DJ/producer hailing from France. He recently graced Insomniac Records with “Girls Night Out,” alongside fellow Frenchman Dombresky. Naturally, we’re chuffed to follow that up with an advance listen of his next single, “Hold Up,” which is due to arrive next week and channels the charms of his country’s unmistakable house sound.

“This track represents all my roots, all my biggest inspirations,” Romera tells Insomniac. “I tried to remake that French touch feeling I always loved. It’s a kind of Justice meets Daft Punk meets some old-school hip-hop vocals, with also some rock influences with the distorted guitar. I’m super happy to drop it on my own imprint, as it represents all that I am and all that I built myself.”

As mentioned, “Hold Up” is slated for release on his very own SANS MERCI imprint, which will be hosting its first-ever label showcase in Lyon, France, on February 23. Check out the single now, as it’s absolutely overflowing with French-style funk.

Available February 15 via SANS MERCI.
