With the release of his long-awaited INFINITY LP on the horizon, Liquid Stranger is about to level up once again with his untouchable freeform sound. Weighing in at 30 tracks and featuring the likes of CloZee, Dion Timmer, Chee, KJ Sawka, and so many more, the solo- and collab-driven LP is designed to not only showcase all that the visionary is capable of in the studio, but also serve as a testament to all that freeform bass has become and will no doubt continue to be far into the future.
As Liquid Stranger tells it, “Creativity stems from powerful life experiences. My inner processes have been very intense during the writing of this record for the past year and a half.”
The resulting aural journey lives up to the hype and blasts from melodically enhanced low-end grooves all the way to gangsta-leaning psychedelic burnouts. Take our Track of the Day, “Jet Packs,” which we’re featuring up top. With the spitfire rhymes of Vern Knows holding it down on the lyrical tip, the razor-sharp bite of the beats and bassline make for a kind of tender violence that floats and stings in all the right places.
“This journey urged me to learn how to self-love,” Liquid Stranger says. It’s a journey that has not only “unleashed some of the strongest emotional peaks I’ve ever experienced,” but one that encourages listeners to do the same. Dig in, and prepare to get that head twisted.
