Greece’s CJ Jeff is the kind of solid scene contributor who eschews marketing noise in favor of keeping his head down to produce A-grade tech house. He’s also a favorite among the famed Yoshitoshi stable. He debuted on the label with his Pitch Black EP in 2017, and he returns to the imprint this Friday with the properly exciting Eye Contact EP, the closing cut of which we’re previewing as our Track of the Day.

“Silver Spoon” flips the powerhouse vibes of the title track for a deeper, more hypnotic weapon that still manages to really ramp up the late-night energy. Focused largely on telling a story around its central groove hook, it drops in with some serious dancefloor shock-and-awe in the form of several exhilarating buildups.

“If you find yourself dancing with your eyes closed in a warehouse in the middle of the night, you are in the right mood for ‘Silver Spoon,’” CJ Jeff tells us.

Available March 29 via Yoshitoshi Recordings.
