Manned by Julius Jetson, the D.C.-based Ghetto Ghetto imprint has its ear to the ground for house music featuring a heavy hip-hop influence, and it has tapped none other than CastNowski for its first release of 2019. After last year’s feisty The Factory EP, the Canadian producer returns to Ghetto Ghetto with another three-track affair, this time known as Lorum Ipsum. We’re previewing its lead as our Track of the Day prior to the release tomorrow.

“Five Star Dish” is a heavy-duty offering boasting plenty of bounce and overflowing with G-house swag. The track’s heavy synth basslines step in to represent, in terms of channeling proper hip-hop grit, complemented by a killer, break-filled breakdown—not to mention a badass rap offered up by Oakland duo Blak Trash.

“I’m glad to be back on Ghetto Ghetto Records in 2019,” CastNowski tells us. “It was unavoidable, as I love how Julian and Enis run the label and give value to every single release. I recall producing ‘Five Star Dish’ about a year ago; when I heard that vocal from Blak Trash, I just sat down and produced the core of it in one sitting.”

Available March 1 via Ghetto Ghetto.
