CamelPhat Stirs Up House Madness on EDC Mexico 2017 Mix

Following up a busy 2016, CamelPhat are launching straight into 2017 with a serious bang. The British DJ duo, aka Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, are slated to play EDC Mexico in Mexico City on February 25–27, alongside mainstage headliners like Hardwell, Major Lazer, Jamie Jones, Guy Gerber, MK, and more. Then, it’s on to Miami WMC’s sun, surf and sand in March, and Ibiza over the balmy summer months ahead.

As a warm-up to the season, we asked them to do us an exclusive mix; they delivered more than an hour of house madness. What’s the inspiration behind the EDC Mexico mix?
Where we are in the world right now is averaging a weather temperature of -1 degree, so we’ve been doing a lot of summer dreaming… hopefully that comes across in the music. Lots of super hot tracks.

What artist are you most looking forward to seeing at EDC Mexico?
We’d love to catch Jamie Jones, Guy Gerber, Yousef, Nathan Barato, Skream, and Sasha & John Digweed.

Top track of 2016?
Solardo’s “Tribesmen” on Hot Creations was huge for us.

Favorite pick as a future hit of 2017?
It’s too early to be predicting specific tracks, but we’re really loving the output of artists like Jesse Perez, Wade, Mat.Joe, and Detlef & Latmun at the moment.

What can fans expect from your live show at EDC Mexico?
Beats from across the house music spectrum. Lots of energy and good vibes.

What’s next?
In March, Miami WMC will be next for us. Then, of course, it’s back to Europe to get ready for the Ibiza openings the following months after.

Anything to add?
Lots of new music on the way, including our new three-track EP, which is coming out in early February on Coyu’s Suara label.
