When coming across artists on the brink of breaking, many listeners look to authoritative tastemakers for affirmation that they are in fact the real deal. If you need validation for Black Girl / White Girl, they are able to name-check artists like Seth Troxer, Green Velvet, Huxley, Jamie Jones, and Pan-Pot. At the end of the week, the Amsterdam-based duo will presumably be adding even more heavyweights to that list, once their Mindscape EP hits shelves by way of Underground Audio.

Filling out the B-side is “Trippin’ Sun,” a dissociative tech house number that further proves these girls know their way around a certifiable groove. Powered by a mean percussive framework, this track cuts straight through the space with legit scratch samples, disorienting chord phrases, audacious FX, and loopy vocal play. It’s a serious stunner. The next time we hear from BGWG, let’s assume it’s fair game to skip the club support bit and cut right to the chase.

Available March 2 via Underground Audio.
