DJ producer duo Black Girl / White Girl are truly a force to be reckoned with. Virtually inexhaustible with talent and energy, their DJ schedule is as packed as their release schedule—which is good, because their unique and refreshing take on techno and house music is in high demand at the moment. DJs and fans alike can rejoice, as a new EP is about ready to land on Psycho Disco! this week, and it’s titled While Tripping.

“Rave Slang,” one of the two tracks on said EP, is a big number that crackles with electricity. It takes the notion of late-night warehouse vibes and pumps it up to 11. Though deep and raw, “Rave Slang” is a nonstop steamroller of tech house. With tried and true four-on-the-floor beats that swing and shuffle in their own lanes, pings and blips scatter throughout, and the composition comes together with a big-room attitude. It’s the type of perfectly married but off-kilter style that really grabs attention and locks a listener in. All of the elements stay in motion, swerving up and dropping down without ever taking a moment to contemplate.

Not only is “Rave Slang” a solid and fresh tune, but it’s clearly representative of why Black Girl / White Girl have garnered so much notoriety as of late. Rest assured: There will most likely be even more to come.

Available November 30 via Psycho Disco! Music.
