Roiju (real name Justin Roig) is a multi-genre producer and DJ from Miami, now based in Boston, who approaches production and performance with stylistic variance and an ability to seamlessly blend styles and genres to create cohesive narratives for the dancefloor. With releases on renowned Florida record labels such as Schematic, Finesse Trax, and Omnidisc, his sound centers heavily around Latin Bass, UK club, leftfield techno, and beyond, and he’s only just gotten started.
Roiju is one of the newer rising names from the Miami scene, but don’t let that fool you; with a little digging and internet sleuthing, his releases can be traced back to 2014 under several different aliases spanning a multitude of genres, alongside plenty of live performances and shows throughout Miami under these monikers. As of recent, he’s shifted away from IDM and more experimental electronic music, and his line of sight has focused on more dance/club oriented releases, with several projects on the horizon.
Beyond being a producer, he’s established himself as a force behind the decks; having most recently played Boiler Room Boston, he’s also played alongside the likes of Miami’s own Nick León, Nicholas G Padilla, Jonny From Space, Bitter Babe, and Danny Daze, as well as underground heavy hitters like Ayesha, Barker, OSSX, Gum.mp3, Doctor Jeep, Ploy, Ma Sha, Swami Sound, and Kellen303.
