Rafael Paula is an interdisciplinary artist and DJ whose practice is both rhizomatic and hyperlocal. Local as in connected not only to the region but also to the flows of their organism and that which surrounds it. Their live performances both highlight and eschew notions of duality and arbitrary distinctions. They incorporate rich textures and overlapping spatialities as storytelling tools as well as means of eliciting subjectivities that fluctuate in terms of their familiarity, vigor and coherence.
