It’s the biggest breakout record of 2014 from one of the UK’s hottest new talents…
After igniting dancefloors across the country “Wish You Were Mine” by Philip George is now blowing up on radio – it was Track of the Day on Radio 1 and is on the playlist at Radio 1 (B-list), Capital Xtra, Kiss FM, Kiss Fresh and Bauer’s The Hits.
Nineties-influenced dance music at its best, “Wish You Were Mine” combines Philip’s melodies with a Korg bassline, solid but simple drums and a deeply infectious vocal loop from Stevie Wonder’s “My Cherie Amour”.
“Wish You Were Mine” has already racked up over a million SoundCloud plays. And with more than 30,000 more plays being added every day, this is a monster that’s set to grow and grow. It stole the Number 1 slot on Music Week’s Cool Cuts chart and is currently Number 1 on Shazam’s UK Top 200.
Hailing from Nottingham, 21 year-old Philip George has been obsessed by music since learning to play piano and drums as a child. He started out making drum & bass but fell in love with house music on his first trip to Ibiza. He’s been making house music for a few years, mostly to play in his DJ sets… upcoming gigs include Blackpool Rocks alongside Martin Garrix, Duke Dumont and Hannah Wants as well as headline spots at Space Leeds and Level Liverpool. He’s also remixed Ella Henderson’s “Yours”.
