Los Angeles based NEKTER provides the room with what she calls a techno sound bath; scratching different parts of the brain with various textures and noise while using particular healing frequencies and sounds. This emerging DJ has been working her way through the underground warehouse circuit around the world.
NEKTER gained her notoriety after winning the 2021 REFORM DJ Contest hosted by 6AM Group and Synthetik Minds. She cut her teeth playing warehouses with the Berlin/LA based all-female techno collective Fallen Angel. She is often seen on local lineups for the most prominent underground groups in LA such as 6AM, Dirty Epic, WORK, Incognito and Synthetik Minds and has shared the stage with industry heavy-hitters such as Ben Block, Ben Sims, Ø [Phase], and most recently as direct support for Amelie Lens. Now an official resident of Commonsense Records in Mexico City and WORK in Los Angeles, NEKTER finds herself sharing the decks with even more insane talent.
NEKTER aims to shake things up and represent the next generation of DJs while paying respectful homage to the legends who helped pave the way for the underground electronic music community. More importantly, NEKTER’s focus is on the experience of the sound journey as it relates to spiritual exploration. Her 10+ years of yoga and meditation practice has landed her at a place where she no longer wishes to have a boundary between the electronic music scene and consciousness observation. Her sets are designed with the purpose of diving into one’s subconscious, making friends with one’s shadows, and feeling sensations in every part of the body. It is imperative to her that the journey be healing, embodied, and somatic as well as being fun and sexy as fuck.
