Doc has been a DJ since the B-Boy days in the early 80’s. Raised in Germany where his career really took off performing at local dances, house parties, and mobile gigs around Europe and also held two nightclub residences. While in Germany, Doc entered his first DJ spin-off and won title of “All European DJ Champion” in 1988. In 1990, (back in the US) Doc held resident DJ for many clubs and won numerous awards such as, 1995 Southeast DMC Regional Champion, 2nd place in the National DJ Spin-off in 1998 also in 1998 as well as 2001 and 2002 he won Southeast Regional DJ Spin-off Champion and voted Florida DJ of the Year in 98, 99, and 2000, and in 2001-2002 he was named Northwest Florida DJ of the Year. Growing up break-dancing and spinning records like African-Bambattaa, Planet Patrol, Magic Mike, Megatron, Kraftwerk, Grandmaster Flash, Newcleus, Al Nafish and other old school electronic favorites literally took Doc to the next level. This breakbeat-scratchmaster started remixing and producing his own original tracks out on various labels such as his own label Solution Records, Ultimix Records, Mix One Records, Funk Wax, and scratch samples on Kaleidoscope Music. Doc Roc has preformed with major artist such as: LL Cool J, Rob Base, DJ EZ Rock, Sir Mix-A-Lot, DJ Magic Mike, Bad Boy Bill, Darude, Richard “Humpty” Vission and MTV’s DJ Skribble. More recently Doc has played with Digital Underground, The Xecutioners and has opened for Bone Thugs & Harmony on Sept. 6th. On Oct 5th Doc played at the Mobile Bayfest with artist such as Ludacris and Sugar Ray. Currently Doc is the head resident DJ for Swamp in Ft. Walton Beach, Fl…The Swamp is an out door beach club and hold a capacity of 3000 people. Doc is responsible for bringing to both clubs such acts as DJ Icey, Baby Anne, DJ Magic Mike, Jimmy Joslin, Darude, K5, Bad Boy Bill, Mtv’s DJ Skribble and Richard “Humpty” Vission also Digital Underground and The Xecutioners to name a few. This Spring Break, The Swamp has had several people from MTV’s Real World and Road Rules filming for their upcoming season “Club Crawl” also Master P, and most recently “Hoobastank”. During Doc’s busy work schedule he still has time to produce music for his own independent record label Solution Records.
