Camea is best known for her hypnotic, floor grinding techno and house DJ sets, gracing stages all over the world for the last 15 years. Born in Seattle and starting her career as a rave DJ in the late 90s, her journey has taken her from West Coast rave warehouses to Brooklyn’s clandestine techno scene, and finally to Berlin where she runs her own imprint and podcast called Neverwhere. She is famously known for founding one of the minimal era’s most illustrious labels, Clink Recordings, as well as a mainstay artist on Berlin’s legendary Bpitch Control, and her lengthy discography of over forty releases and remixes on labels such as Watergate, Jeudi, Upon. You, Minus, Plus 8, Get Physical and many more. Camea’s music has also been reworked many times over by a wide range of producers, including Matrixxman, Markus Suckut, Tobias., Locked Groove, LA-4A, Pan-Pot, Ian Pooley and Alexi Delano.
Camea’s love for electronic music stems from her musician roots and passion for club cullture; she started performing music early in her youth as a classically and jazz trained pianist. Spending most of her adult life on tour, she can be found driving dance floors at festivals and clubs worldwide, having been invited to play dark techno rooms like Berghain, and emotional sunrises at Burning Man. When not on tour, she spends most of her time in her studio in Berlin writing music, and is already set for a slew of announcements and releases to come in 2020, including a live performance. Stay tuned.
