Aiokai is a drum & bass producer from Mexico who is known for his rave music influences, hinting at 90´s styled elements fused with modern sound design. His releases vary in fashion, from dancefloor bangers like his 2023 release ‘Come Back To Me’, which came out via Jessica Audiffred’s imprint ‘A Records’, to melodic and lush liquidfunk compositions like ´Take Me´, released on ‘4NC¥ //DarkMode’, PAV4N’s (Foreign Beggars) label on 2022. Some other of his productions rely on hyperactive and frenetic vibes, like ´Zeroed Existence’ and ‘Fallin’’, both released on LOWFREQMX, showing that Aiokai can go from mosh pit fire starters to catchy jump up tunes in a second, with finesse and without losing his characteristic idiosyncrasy.
Aiokai is part of the Mexican bass music scene, working with various labels and promoters like LOWFREQMX and Jungle Empire. He has also taken his talent abroad to countries like Italy, Croatia and the UK. He is known for his euphoric and brutal DJ Sets, which are especially relentless and intense, making them an unforgettable experience. Aiokai has formed part of different events, like The Sound Studio at Outlook Festival (Croatia) 2018 and 2019, and by giving press coverage for electronic music news and festivals on the now defunct TLILTIC Radio magazine. He is also a production, sound design and mixing & mastering teacher.
In the past, Aiokai has released different music genres like 140 / Dubstep, Breakbeat, Future Garage, Juke / Footwork and more, but he is now concentrating solely on Drum / Bass. For more on this, follow his side-project Midnight Ezra.
