Noisia’s left-field-leaning Invisible Records imprint continues to drop jaws across the board as their latest installation in the Outlines EP series hits the intergalactic airwaves.

Outlines is a various artist EP series on our Invisible imprint,” Noisia tells Insomniac. “It explores the deep end of 170, the minimal, the tunneling, the experimental, the fringe.”

Built on a drum & bass DNA, the double helix of intricate breakbeats and subatomic basslines make for a smashing selection of head-twisting illness from the likes of Doctrine, Exept, Kije, M.Justa, and the Outsiders.

While all the bits are sure to stand the test of time, it’s this heavy, synapse-frying “Saigon Killer” from Arclight that has us itching for some introspective bone-rattling alone time in the bassbin. From the shivering top-end to the complex interweave of razor-sharp breaks, anabolic bass and cinematic atmospheres, the elements merge and gel together into an exquisite, apocalyptic swirl of Colonel Kurtz–inspired madness that quite simply can’t be fucked with.

“To be back on Invisible is a great feeling,” says Arclight. “This track… features some of my favorite aspects of what is a really diverse and unique label. I went for something quite sparse, but still full-sounding—redlining the Mackie Desk and Sherman Filter for some of the harmonic content. I love hypnotic, progressive structures in D&B, with a strong life force surging through them.”

The full EP drops next week on all digital platforms, but you can get your fix here, courtesy of the Insomniac crew.

Available January 25 via Invisible Recordings.
