We’ve put together some of our favorite tunes from Discovery Project alumni for you. We do this regularly, so keep checking in with the Alumni Tracks You Should Know series to see the latest and greatest from our Discovery Project artists.

Consouls ft. MC Dino “The Thrill”

It’s a beautiful thing to see one of Discovery Project’s finest D&B selectas get down to nasty bass business with MC Dino, one of the instrumental voices from bassPOD. Dino’s iconic husky drawl pairs wonderfully with the skanky bassline and jump-up drums laid down masterfully by the bad-boy duo. The rising D&B stars have linked up with fellow DP alum Blacklab to form the Database, a new drum & bass collective that aims to give a springboard to the hotbed of emerging talent in the ever-expanding bass scene.

ANGELZ “Devils” (NuKid Remix)

Max Romeo likely had no idea that his 1976 song Chase the Devil, about struggling with the demons within, would go on to become one of the most recognizable samples around right now. ANGELZ put a dark spin on the iconic vocal by pitching it down, and then G-house outlaw NuKid takes it one deeper by extending that ragga vibe into a slumper of a bassline. Keep it locked to the last drop, where he tosses in an uber-funky switch-up on the timing for one strong finish.

Detrace & Francis Derelle “Make My Day” (VIP)

Francis Darelle and Detrace return to add some bounce to their previously released tune “Make My Day.” Their edit keeps the lighthearted, upbeat feel of the original, while pushing up the tempo just enough to make it even brighter and adding much more booty-shaking flavor.

UMEK “Sneaking Unnoticed” (Durtysoxxx Remix)

Currently climbing the Beatport charts is this dark and brooding rework from budding techno sensation Durtysoxxx. He first joined us under his house moniker and has since found his true groove on the dark side of techno. His label, Funk’n Deep Records, has become one of the most respected up-and-coming imprints in the techno realm, pulling off an official showcase at last year’s ADE. And this thumping late-night jam is a clear indication of why Durtysoxxx is taking it to the next level.

Ciszak “Vanilla Cream”

On his third release for Dirtybird, Ciszak has hit every signature marking of the label. It has the throbbing booty bass vibe, oddball synth work, and a cheeky vocal, which all come together with a slithering lead that will undoubtedly have you dancing in the most inappropriate of ways.
