With his fresh, genre-bending take on future bass and trap music, Philly-born DJ and producer Fluencee is making his mark on the electronic game. His originals and remixes alike have garnered support from myriad A-list names including The Chainsmokers, Firebeatz, Paul Oakenfold, TJR and Tommy Trash, among others. His live performances traverse the nation, highlighted by a landmark set at the iconic Sundance Film Festival as well as numerous Life In Color concerts, including the brand’s Atlantic City, San Diego, Philadelphia, and NY/NJ iterations.
Fluencee’s unique background and production prowess were recently chronicled in YourEDM’s “Aspire to Inspire” series, which aims to encourage resilience and change for music fans by profiling individuals who overcame burdensome personal and professional challenges. Having battled a stutter since he was a toddler, Fluencee’s name is a tribute to him finally being able to speak fluently, through music.
“Stuttering has been a serious obstacle in my life. Reading aloud in class, making a presentation, trying to convince employers in job interviews I can communicate fluently. So after years of hiding behind it and trying to suppress it, I finally decided to own it. And Fluencee was born.”
