Insomniac Cares, Insomniac’s charitable giving initiative, is proudly partnering with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as the official sponsor of the school’s 16th Annual Dance Marathon, taking place on campus this weekend—Saturday, April 8, through Sunday, April 9. As UCLA’s biggest student-run fundraising event, the 26-hour marathon welcomes more than 3,000 registered participants, all gathering to raise awareness of and take a stand against pediatric HIV/AIDS. Students and members of the community are uniting as a universal family to dance and smile as one in this amazing pro-social event. Insomniac Cares, alongside other supportive campus and community members, is also helping raise funds for four meaningful causes and organizations: Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Project Kindle, UCLA AIDS Institute, and the Life Skills/Mentorship Program from Pediatric AIDS Coalition at UCLA (PAC).
In addition to officially presenting this year’s Dance Marathon at UCLA, Insomniac Cares is curating three hours of interactive programming. From Saturday at 11:45pm to Sunday at 3am PT, Insomniac Cares is transforming UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion into an Electric Daisy Carnival celebration, with our iconic costumed performers and striking audiovisual displays. We’re also bringing along some musical heavyweights to hit the decks and power the dancefloor, including Sage Armstrong, ANGELZ and Kaleido.
“When I first started Insomniac, I hoped that one day we would be able to give back to the communities that had shown us support in the cities where we produced our events,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac and Insomniac Cares. “Today is another exciting moment for our charitable giving initiative, Insomniac Cares, where we get to make such an incredible impact in our own hometown of Los Angeles. I’m proud to be a part of the fight against pediatric HIV/AIDS, while bringing the spirit of EDC to the Dance Marathon at UCLA.”
Last year, the Dance Marathon at UCLA raised an impressive $446,253, with a grand total of more than $5 million raised to fight pediatric HIV/AIDS since 2002. This year, we’re looking to break that record with the help of you Headliners! To join Insomniac Cares in supporting this worthy cause, visit the official event website.
