Dubfire Reflects on Working With German Techno Don Oliver Huntemann in New Mini Documentary
It was back in 2007 when US stalwart Dubfire first became acquainted with Germany’s Oliver Huntemann, at a time shortly after he’d broken from his Deep Dish partnership with Sharam and had just released his first breakthrough techno hit with “Ribcage.” A decade later, and the pair are celebrating their enduring studio partnership via a special Retrospectivo (2008-2016) album.
“I was a big fan of Oliver’s work; I was following everything he was doing from productions to remixes,” Dubfire told Billboard last month, speaking on the new compilation that has just arrived on Huntemann’s Senso Sounds label and features their new collaboration “Humano.”
“First it was just talking about respect for one another’s work, and then it turned into, if you’re a fan of my work and I’m a fan of your work, it just seems logical for us to work together.”
With their Retrospectivo (2008-2016) anthology available now, the pair have just released a special accompanying documentary that looks at their collaboration over the years.
