Oliver Heldens

Genre: Deep House

Origin: Netherlands

Every once in a while, you come across a rare trailblazer like the young Dutch star Oliver Heldens, who stands out from the crowd with his own distinctive sound. A genuine superstar who counts No. 1 hits and more than 3 billion streams to his name, is at the vanguard of the new generation of house music stars.

As much as Oliver Heldens is one of the most prolific and successful producers around, he is also a resolute perfectionist. Working tirelessly in his studio to craft new sounds and directions at every available opportunity, he’s a truly dedicated artist who refuses to cut corners. It’s this attitude to innovation that also saw him launch his spectacular HI-LO side project, which pushes his intricate and forward-thinking production aesthetic to its limits through the filter of future and melodic techno music.

His career has been a whirlwind of mind-boggling success since signing to Spinnin’ Records in 2012 at age 17 and shortly thereafter Tiësto picked up his single Gecko, which became his major breakthrough track. Pete Tong’s, Warner Music Group imprint, FFRR subsequently licensed it and took it to the #1 spot in the UK Official Chart with a vocal from Becky Hill culminating in Double Platinum sales, while follow-ups Koala (Last All Night) hit No. 5 on the UK Chart and The Right Song with Tiesto quickly amassed over 9 figures in streams and was certified Gold! Since 2013, Oliver has played over 1,000 shows across the world, and his relentless tour schedule continues to place him at the forefront of the global DJ circuit bringing his eclectic, high-octane sound to over 2.5 million fans annually playing over 100 shows including headlining and playing major festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, EDC, Ultra and more!

As well as being one of the most talented producers in the game and signed by RCA Records, he’s also one of the world’s favourite house DJs landing at #10 in the 2022 DJ Mag Top 100 maintaining his position in the top 10 for five years running. Oliver continues to value the synergy of collaborations, with recent releases 10 out of 10 featuring Kylie Minogue, I Was Made For Lovin’ You with Nile Rodgers & House Gospel Choir, Low with Tchami & Anabel England plus releasing official remixes for the who’s who of pop stars & cultural icons including Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa, Chic, Coldpay, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta & Bebe Rexha, Glass Animals, Jamiroquai, Justin Timberlake & SZA, and Katy Perry amongst others!

Oliver Heldens is the curator and head honcho of his highly successful label Heldeep Records, which he launched in 2014 as a platform to showcase the new music of budding producers but has since grown into a fully-fledged label that continues to be a leader in breaking taste maker club and house records. In recent years, Heldeep has spawned two equally impressive imprints: OH2 Records (2020) which caters to the more commercial leaning, streaming focused productions, and HILOMATIK (2023) the home for HI-LO output and cutting-edge techno from other artists, and serves as a platform to bring the melodic techno world and the more driving peak time techno world closer to together. The family of labels features respected talents such as ALOK, Chocolate Puma, James Hype, Kai Tracid, Elohim, Example, MAX, Shift K3y, Space 92 and Wehbba and hosts stages at leading festivals across the globe like Tomorrowland, Electric Forest, Mysteryland, Spring Awakening Music Festival and South West Four. Heldens continues to host his weekly radio show, Heldeep Radio, which is syndicated across 95 radio stations, in 75 countries and reaches 115 million people a week.

Oliver Heldens’ HI-LO alias is reserved for his deepest and darkest records. His tracks Zeus & Kronos, landed in the top 10 of the most supported techno tracks on 1001tracklists in 2020, which was a contributing factor to Oliver being awarded the coveted spot as the #1 most supported artist platform wide. Next came the release of eleven songs on Dutch techno giant Reinier Zonneveld’s Filth on Acid, including 7 collabs w Reiner, plus six songs on Adam Beyer’s famed Drumcode Records, each garnering millions of streams and support from the likes of Adam Beyer himself, Carl Cox, Solomun, Charlotte de Witte, Enrico Sanguiliano, Tale of Us, Anyma, Dubfire, Joseph Capriati, ANNA, Joris Voorn, Nicole Moudaber, Sam Paganini, Camelphat, John Sumitt, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, and many more! With the intense musical output and subsequent fanfare HI-LO has been crowned as the #1 best-selling techno artist on Beatport over the last year, plus! As the music has hit, the touring has followed with HI-LO playing stand out sets at the likes of Tomorrowland, Ultra x Resistance, Proper NYE, Seismic Dance Event, La Solar Festival, De Marktkantine, Warehouse Project, Watergate, E1, plus featuring on Drumcode and Filth on Acid label nights.

Aside from the music, Heldens always likes to go one step further with his ideas to ensure that every element of his creative game is truly standout. Whether that’s with his hilarious social media hijinx on his massive channels, harnessing the power of his fanbase to create a dance craze for his track Flamingo or creating his own Deep Water vitamin drink, there’s never a dull moment in his world.
